The Lottie Project

The Lottie Project book starts when Charlie Enright (Charlotte Alice Katherine Enright. But only called Charlie) starts Grade Six with Mrs Beckworth. She wants to sit with Lisa Field and or Angela Robinson but Mrs Beckworth shot down their idea by placing the class in pairs alphabetically. Charlie gets placed with class "pet", Jamie Edwards. Mrs Beckworth gives everyone a Victorian assignment

Back at home, her mum Jo got a redundency at Elete and she is job-less. Jo is real cut up about it and she keeps applying for all these jobs, then she luckily gets 3 jobs. Two cleaning jobs and a babysitting job at the Rosens'' house in Oxford Estate. Along came Robin (a 5 year old who loves his bird toy, Birdie) and his dad, Mark (a "total wimp" <= Charlie''s words).
Jo tries to impress Mark over time with her special "bunny" pink fluffy jumper.

Back at school, Charlie gets cracking on the assignment with a diary of Lottie (Charlotte) A poor girl who has to sell herself out as a 11yr old servant. Lottie turned down the first 2 oppertunities but takes the third by being a nursery maid to Louisa, Freddie and Victor (spoilt brats) Lottie was very homesick especially when it''s her sister Rose''s birthday.

Back at home, Jo asks Charlie to come to Red River theme park. Lisa and Angela bother her saying she''s lucky to go but Charlie is anything but happy about it. (she hates Mark and Robin) so she is angry when they go. It all gets bottled up inside her and she takes it out on Robin when Mark and Jo go on a ''lovey-dovey'' ride by saying his dad won''t want him anymore, now he has Jo....


.....that night, at 3am, Mark phones Jo to say Robin has disappeared. Charlie and Jo go over and help look. He''s gone. Police got involved and they found him at the station, behind alot of parcels.


At school, Charlie is "famous" because everyone heard about Robin and she tells everyone about it. The next day, Charlie is sooo upset that she''s been so horrible because she found out that Robin had a touch of Pneumonia. She accidentally yelled at Lisa, Angela and Jamie. She wanted to make a break for it at the gate but Mrs Beckworth caught her so she ran...into grade ones. She tripped and fell. She grazed her knee and cut the other. Charlie has a breakdown and told Mrs Beckworth everything.

On another day, Robin pulled through and they all went to Bournemouth beach and Charlie bought some postcards for Jamie''s project.


At school, Jamie''s project won and Charlie came second. Then, there''s a Christmas "disco" and Jamie shooches Charlie on the cheek.

At home, Jo and Charlie talk about Christmas preparations and the book finishes.
